Report Responses Documentation

Report Responses

Report responses are a way for clients to respond to reports made against them. This feature allows clients to provide their side of the story, which can be useful for service providers to understand the full context of a situation.

This feature is available to anyone for free.

This documentation page provides an overview of the Report Responses feature.

Customer Responses

Customers can respond to reports made against them by submitting a report response. This response will be visible to anyone with a public link to the report, including other reporter profiles.

How to Submit a Report Response

First, you need to find the report you want to respond to. You can do this by creating a personal data monitor with your email address, verifying it, and running a manual search at the bottom of the "Personal Data Monitors" page.

This will show you all reports that match your email address. Once you find the report you want to respond to, click on the "Submit a Response" button.

Reporter Responses

Reporters will receive a notification email when a report response is submitted by a client. The email will contain details about the report response and a URL to take you to the report response details page.

You can also visit the "View Your Reports" page on your reporter profile and any reports that have responses will be marked with a "Response" label.

Notification Emails

An email will be sent to the notification email addresses associated with the reporter profile when a report response is submitted by the client. Similarly, an email will be sent to the client when a report response is submitted by the reporter.

These emails are limited to once per hour to prevent spam. If multiple responses are submitted within an hour, only the first response will trigger an email notification.

Disabling Report Responses

Reporters can disable notification emails for specific reports while responding to them.

Customers can delete their responses at any time. This will remove the response from the report and prevent it from being visible to others. This will also prevent the reporter to submit or edit their own response to the report.
